Ben & Jerry’s co-founder, Ben Cohen, is a staunch Bernie Sanders supporter. How staunch? Enough to dream up and make 40 pints of his own Sanders-inspired ice cream.

It’s called “Bernie’s Yearning,” and it’s designed to be both delicious and instructive. The top of the pint consists of a milk chocolate disc that covers plain mint ice cream. The chocolate represents the economic gains that have gone to the top 1% of Americans since the end of the recession. The mint ice cream represents so-called regular people.
“Take back of spoon and whack huge chocolate disc into lots of pieces,” the instructions read. “Let the ice cream soften up a bit, mix the pieces around—and there you have it, Bernie’s Yearning. Dig in and share it with your fellow Americans.”

The limited-quantity ice cream is not affiliated with Ben & Jerry’s, which was acquired by Unilever in 2000 for $326 million.
